Routing & Switching

Understand how data moves through networks using routers and switches. Configure, verify, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructures with CLI-based labs.

Training / Networking / Routing & Switching

Course Overview

This module introduces core routing and switching concepts — the backbone of any network. You’ll learn how to design, implement, and maintain small to medium enterprise networks using Cisco IOS-style commands and modern network tools.

By the end of this course, you’ll be able to understand network topologies, configure routing protocols, and manage switch VLANs while troubleshooting connectivity issues efficiently.

Key Concepts

  • OSI Model and TCP/IP fundamentals
  • Switching: VLANs, trunking, and spanning tree
  • Routing: Static routes and dynamic protocols (RIP, OSPF)
  • Inter-VLAN routing and gateway configuration
  • Redundancy and fault tolerance concepts

Lab Exercises

  • Configure VLANs and trunk ports
  • Set up a static routing table between two routers
  • Implement OSPF routing and verify convergence
  • Simulate link failures and rerouting
  • Test network connectivity using CLI tools
